GUIDED HIKING & NATURALIST TOURS

At Further Adventures we pride ourselves with presenting high-quality, safe, environmentally-conscious and fun adventures.
We offer a wide variety of historical and naturalist tours along the trails that abound in the San Juan Mountains. We can design custom tours to meet your interests such as flora and fauna, waterfalls, geology, medicinal plants, history or general information about the area.
Trips can also be designed to meet your fitness or level of adaptation to altitude. Whether you are a proverbial “mountain goat” ready to leap up the mountains or are just looking for more of a stroll in this magnificent landscape, we can make sure your tour matches your abilities.

Nestled in a box canyon in the San Juan Mountains, Telluride takes your breath away with its grandeur and beauty. With the highest concentration of “Fourteeners” (high peaks that are at or over 14,000ft above sea level) in North America, gushing waterfalls, ghost towns, fields of wildflowers, and rich mining history Telluride is an explorer’s dreamscape. Our guides are steeped in local knowledge with backgrounds in biology, natural history, folklore and geography.

We offer half day or full day options:
Full day includes a picnic lunch. A great adventure for individuals, families, or groups!
NOVICE HIKING ADVENTURES
Choose from Mill Creek Trail, Bear Creek Waterfall for half day choices or if you are feeling more adventurous, Wilson Mesa or Woods Lake to Flat Top for a full-day cruise.
EXPERIENCED HIKING ADVENTURES
If you are a more experienced hiker, you can choose from the following Telluride hiking gems: Blue Lake or Lower Bilk Creek for a half-day hike or if you are looking for all day in the high country, Sneffels High Line, Waterfall Canyon or Wasatch to Bridal Veil falls will not disappoint.
